If you’re experiencing marginal inflammation in the gums around your natural teeth and trying to keep the implant you just placed healthy, then you should visit your dentist every three to four months. This allows the dentist to clean and polish around the implant and prevent the infection around it from spreading through the mouth.

The only difference the dentist makes while maintaining your implants is using different instruments during your treatments. They will not use metal instruments on your implants, so they do not scratch its surface. Once the implant’s surface is scratched, it starts to attract plaque, which increases the chances of complications later on.
